This week in the App Store

This week the Divergent Cloud team has com across a group of paid applications that are just screaming to be reviewed. The graphics that these paid application bring to the table are incomparable to those of their free counterparts. We'll start off the following weeks with reviews of the "most-wanted" apps of 2009.

Assassin's Creed

By far, one of the more popular games in the App Store, this title was released by Gameloft and Ubisoft. The gameplay for Assassin's Creed is simply incredible, with many levels varying in difficulty, enabling one to learn many important life skills on the way, like jumping from wall to wall.

The interface of the game is very clean, with the main-character, Altair centered among his sword-yielding tactics. The game features many different levels of swords you can unlock along the way. Assassin's Creed goes back to the old-school with the rather innovative 4-directional pad. Gameplay is fairly easy on the first few levels. After awhile, however, it does seem to test your skills, and rather malleable resistance.

On the whole, It's a really good game for one. finally, a cut and slash winner that is a knockout.

DanceDanceRevolution S

DanceDanceRevolution S is a truly fresh update from the first trial version of DDR that Konami released on the AppStore. Featuring new menus, and countless DDR Hits, Konami have got themselves yet another hit on their hands. One thing I hope for however, is the inclusion of in app purchasing abilities. The ability to purchase new song packs, themes and character would truly enhance the already very fun experience that DDR-S offers. This could proabably be the best music application that is available for the iPhone. The character design is fresh and aesthetically pleasing. Although incomparable to those of high-end consoles, the graphics on DDR-S definitely beats the Wii. A slew of game playing variety has also been added to the official version. With the new shake mode, training mode, and more, DDR-S will definitely dance it's way to the top of the Paid Music App charts.

Konami's DanceDanceRevolution S. Available for $6.99 on the AppStore.

This all the reviews we have for now. Be sure to tune in next week for more AppStore reviews!
